A Garden Baby Shower!

Something we love just as much as a pretty wedding, is an epic shower!

We got to work on the most beautiful garden inspired baby shower this past weekend and we couldn’t wait to show you all!

The hostess, of course, wanted loads of pink throughout the arrangements since the new baby would be a girl. We also drew yellow and a dusty blue from the invitation that blended together just beautifully. And the wild garden greenery was the icing on the cake, so to speak; and speaking of cake, check out those seriously adorable cookies that were in the entry alongside our arrangement!

Dahlia, Lisianthus, Dusty Miller Arrangement | Garden Baby Shower | the white dahlia

We had so many rooms to fill in the Ocean Ranch home in Dana Point, California including the backyard where some amazing banquet tables were set up.

We decided to do a cluster of vases on most of the tables (an easy way to disguise those ugly umbrella poles) and a few larger vases and ceramic pots around the other rooms in the house, continuing with the wildflower vibe.

We love the mix of pink dahlias with yellow and pink lisianthus, dusty miller (for that dusty blue) and whimsical veronica and larkspur.

Easter Flower Guide

It’s that time! Time to share our go-to holiday florals. This time, Easter.

Easter Flower Guide | the white dahlia

1. Tulips: We love colorful tulips for Easter; think yellow, pink, and purple.
2. Lilac: Lilac isn’t in season long, so when it is we like to use it as much as possible! It has a beautiful purple hue and a sweet fragrance that is amazing.
3. Daffodils: You really can’t fully enjoy spring without garnishing the house with this iconic spring flower.
4. Sweet Peas: Like lilac, sweet peas have a short season so we love using them when we can. They too have an intoxicating smell and beautiful vibrant color. We also love their wildflower look.

For pricing or to order Easter bunches and arrangements be sure to visit our website or email us for a quote!

Our New Column! Flower of The Month…

Flower of The Month: Daffodil | the white dahlia

We’ve decided to add a new monthly column that we are so excited about! We’ll now share with you our favorite flowers for the month, each month.

Flower of The Month: Daffodil | the white dahlia

We’ll start this off with a springtime classic, Daffodils!

Daffodils grow from a bulb and come in various color varieties from white to yellow and even deep orange.

Flower of The Month: Daffodil | the white dahlia

Cut daffodils will last longer in room temperature shallow water and be sure to cut the stems at an angle for better water absorption. Cut flower food will help prolong the life of daffodils (we recommend using 1/4-1/2 a pack with each water change). Also, cutting the stems with each water change will help prolong the life of your daffodils.

We are so excited to enjoy these gorgeous spring flowers while they’re in season!
What is your favorite flower for April?

Upcoming Events: Village Art Faire

We are so excited to be back at the Village Art Faire in San Clemente! It will be held on Avenida Del Mar, an adorable main street in the heart of a little beach town, on April 6th (the first Sunday) from 9:00am-3:00pm and we’ll be there all day!

Tons of local artisans will be there selling their art pieces and handmade goods and we really can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning or afternoon!

Succulent Crate | the white dahlia

We will be back with a few of the same items from the last time (do you remember those Succulent Crates?). Plus, we have added some new and exciting merchandise like adorable Succulent Wine Cork Magnets (!!!) and some of our amazing home decor products that are sure to get your home and garden spring ready!

Garden Pots Assortment | the white dahlia

We’ll also have fresh flower arrangements available for purchase. What better way to enjoy spring than with flowers around the house?

We hope to see you there!

Pins We Love: Bud Vase Arrangements

Happy Spring! We are so excited about this time of year! Something we are going to try this spring is the up-cycling of glass bottles. We are seeing more and more of this lately (and really loving it!), mixing and matching them to make a cluster of vases into a beautiful arrangement of flowers!

We at, The White Dahlia would really like to make this holiday less scary and stressful so we can all focus on the true meaning of Valentines Day. Love. Love. and MORE Love! Flower Guide: Get Your Girl These for Valentines Day!

Valentines Day Flower Guide | the white dahlia

Every girl wishes for flowers on Valentines day and wouldn’t it be nice if you felt confident you were getting her just the right ones?! Well, Valentines Day is quickly approaching so we thought we would make life a little easier for the dudes who have no clue what to get their girl for the BIG day! Just trust us!

Valentines Day Flower Guide | the white dahlia

This guide is a few flowers that every girl will LOVE. They are the most asked for, talked about, requested and sold in the flower market! (Or so we’ve seen)!

Tuberose | the white dahlia Ranunculas | the white dahlia1. Hyacinth: These beautiful blooms are available in shades of pink, purple and white. Hyacinth give off a lovely fragrance and are pretty much a staple for spring! Usually sold by the stem and can range from $2.5-5 per stem.
2. Tuberose: These flowers are full of enough fragrance to scent an entire room! Their linear stalks bloom small white blossoms. Typically sold by the stem ranging from $1-3.
3. Anemones: Anemones come in a range of colors and are beautifully vibrant with a popping black center. Typically sold as a bunch of 10 ranging from $12-15.
4. Peonies (not pictured): These beautiful blooms are available in shades of pink to burgundy, red and white. Usually sold by the stem and can be pretty pricey ranging from $5-10 per stem.
5. Ranunculus: We personally love ranunculus! They are available in an array of colors. These flowers start small but blossom into big beautiful, almost paper like, flowers. Typically sold in a bunch ranging from $12-15.
6. Roses: Yes, the standard. A classic. Roses are available in an array of colors and are most commonly sold by the dozen which can range from $15-30 (during the holiday don’t be surprised if you’re dishing out closer to $40-60 per dozen). Try a garden rose which will have a beautiful fragrance; garden roses are typically sold by the stem ranging from $5-10 per stem.
7. Dahlia: Of course we’re a fan, but our customers love big beautiful dahlias too. They are available in an array of colors depending on the season and usually range from $3-10 per stem.
8. Tulips: Tulips are another spring standard. They are available in almost any color and also range in breed (i.e. parrot tulips, dutch tulips, french tulips). Typically tulips are sold as a bunch ranging from $12-15.

Dahlia | the white dahlia Tulips | the white dahlia Our website is offering some amazing options too, if your still stumped, you can choose from our pre designed arrangements she’s sure to love!
